Several Cutting Methods Of Laser Cutting Machine

The laser cutting of the laser cutting machine is one of the thermal cutting methods. The laser cutting uses high-power focusing and irradiates the parts. After a series of chemical reactions, the material melts to achieve the cutting effect. Laser cutting has cutting classifications such as vaporization, melting, oxidation, etc., and different cutting methods can be selected according to different materials.

1. Laser vaporization cutting

Laser vaporization cutting uses high-energy and high-density laser beams to heat the workpiece to increase the temperature and vaporize the material into steam in a short period of time. When the steam is ejected, a cut will be formed on the material. , In this way, the cutting effect is achieved. However, the heat of vaporization of general materials is very large, so high-power laser beams should be used when the materials are heated. The materials used in laser vaporization cutting generally include extremely thin metallic materials and non-metallic materials.

2. Laser melting and cutting

Laser melting and cutting is to heat the material to a certain temperature to melt, and then spray non-oxidizing gas through a nozzle coaxial with the beam, and use the pressure of the gas to discharge the liquid metal to form an incision. The energy required for laser melting and cutting is only 1/10 of that of vaporization cutting, and the metal does not need to be completely vaporized. Generally, the materials suitable for laser melting and cutting include stainless steel, titanium, aluminum and their alloys, etc., which are all materials or active metals that are not easily oxidized.

3. Laser oxygen cutting

Laser oxygen cutting uses a laser as a preheating heat source and an active gas such as oxygen as an auxiliary gas for cutting. After the gas is sprayed, the gas and the metal are oxidized and a large amount of oxidation heat is released. At the same time, the molten oxide and melt are blown out of the reaction zone to form a cut in the metal. Generally, the materials suitable for laser oxygen cutting are carbon steel, titanium steel, heat-treated steel and other easily oxidized metal materials.

4. Laser scribing and control fracture

Laser scribing and controlled fracture use a high-energy density laser beam to scan the surface of the material. A small groove is generated on the outside of the material when heated, and then a certain pressure is applied, so the laser will cut along this small groove. This kind of cutting generally uses brittle materials.

The laser cutting of the laser cutting machine mainly has the above four different cutting methods to deal with different situations.
